ABOUT COPPER PLATING SALTS

Copper tank plating salts are ones of the most important and useful plating salts to own. They are used primarily in electroforming process. (plating over non-conductive items) but are also used frequently when plating over conductive metals, because of the great benefits afforded. When tank plating with our 5L Electroplating production line this salts solution can create a pristine mirror finish. This can further benefit you as there will be no need for polishing before or after the plating. This is particularly useful when dealing with items such as chains or other items with high levels of detail, where polishing compounds would be difficult to remove.

It is ideal for car and motorbike restorers, model makers and enthusiasts with badly worn or pitted items that need building up. You can use this solution to plate directly onto brass, bronze, pewter and other tin based alloys, as well as to build up a thick layer over zinc and zincated aluminium.  The thick layer of copper will protect the base layer of zinc or zincated aluminium from corrosion.

HOW DO COPPER PLATING SALTS WORK

Copper plating salts must be diluted to required solution volume, which will be used in electroplating process. It involves electrically coating a layer of metal on another metal surface. This process needs an electrical charge.

Essentially, the user applies an electrical charge to a container of copper plating solution. This charge causes the chemical reactions necessary for depositing the copper metal on the surface of the material the user wants to plate with copper.
